Sabbatical
I finished my long-term mission with iRaiser in December 2026. While still open for short-term missions, I decided not to rush and use the free time I have to pursue some long-postponed goals and dreams (see below).
Tribute to my father
My father passed away in November 2025 in a hiking accident. As a tribute to him, I am currently building a small website referencing all his past itineraries (that he wrote down diligently in his notebooks). You can see the current result here: https://lesrandosdebruno.vercel.app
My dad has gone on more than 1,300 hikes in his life, and his notebooks are impossible to OCR-ize. Therefore, every day I manually add a few more hikes to this website. I will probably be done by the middle of the year.
Learning Languages
I am taking the chance to not work for a few months and live in Rome to finally practice Italian and boost my level.
Each day, I try to spend ~3 hours on Italian (including private lessons and group lessons multiple times a week). I hope to reach B1 by the end of February and a solid B2 level 3 months after that.
In parallel, I’m trying to maintain my Russian, mostly engaging in passive activities like listening to podcasts and series. After 4 years of practicing, I feel like I need to take a break from studying grammar and engaging in deliberate practice, and instead let my unconscious work. I also aim to reach a solid B2 by the end of 2026.
MicroSaaS and Blogging
I’m also dedicating some time (between 1 and 2 hours a day) to finally take care of this blog, develop a better personal branding, and take the chance to launch a successful product that could earn me recurring revenue.
With this I hope to:
- cultivate authenticity, sharing who I am and what I’m up to without being ashamed of it
- develop a network and a good personal image that would help me make valuable friends or work with like-minded people in the future
- seize the opportunity to launch a product as a one-person business
